This intense year 2022 of engineering projects and consultancy is closed with the long mission in Tunisia carried out from 4 to 17 December in the production and maintenance sites and on the railway network of the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Tunisiens SNCFT.
As part of the SNCFT “Energy audit of railway rolling stock” project, BT INGENIUM, with the participation of its eng. Teodoro BOVE, was commissioned by his client the RINA – Comete Engineering consortium to be part of the team of experts assigned to the project, as a railway engineering specialist for the rolling stock subsystem part.
A big thank you to the RINA team and all the SCNFT contacts known in the beautiful and interesting mission for their welcome and continuous support essential for the successful execution of the mission.
With the participation throughout the first mission and the subsequent activities envisaged in the plan, BT INGENIUM has the privilege of supporting the analysis of the internal railway system of Tunisia with audit visits to the various maintenance and production sites of the rolling stock, among such as the Sidi Fathallah workshops, the large Farhat Hached depot, the Borj Cedria, Gasfa, Gaafur and Sousse workshops, the refueling stations and the substations which feed the catenaries of the 25 kV electrified lines.
The main objective of the activity is to examine the energy performance of railway rolling stock and propose feasible alternatives in an investment plan that allows the SCNFT client to reduce energy consumption and its environmental impact.
At the end of this analysis activity in progress, in 2023 BT INGENIUM will return to Tunisia to provide training activities to SNCFT personnel relating to the presentation and implementation of the improvement plan which will be elaborated and proposed as the final result of the project.
