BT INGENIUM‘s specialist consultancy on Functional Safety (SIL) continues on the international market.
From 24 to 28 February, Eng. Teodoro BOVE, on behalf of his historic client TUV Nord Italia, went to Mumbai, India to carry out the on-site Auditing activities necessary for the closure of the product certification assessment process in compliance with the IEC 61508 standard for SIL2 integrity level of a new product line of Atex gas sensors intended for the Oil & Gas sector, created and produced by a historic Indian company that has been present in the sector for 30 years.
This mission successfully concludes a certification process that lasted almost 2 years and that has seen us engaged since the initial product concept activities, carrying out gradual verification activities on the various phases of the system Safety design life cycle (with HW and SW implementation in SIL2) as required by the reference standard IEC 61508.
For BT INGENIUM it was a further qualifying experience of truly interesting and fascinating consulting outside the borders, both from a professional and human point of view, receiving at the end of the mission the feedback and sincere appreciation from the end customer of our multi-year skills in electronic design and Functional Safety (SIL).
The various observations and proposals for improvement highlighted by Eng. Bove during the project in the various phases of the product development life cycle have always been well received and implemented by the customer’s design body as necessary, allowing us to efficiently reach the important final result of SIL2 certification of the product.
The welcome in India from TUV India staff and end customer was really special and warm, so we extend a big and heartfelt thanks to Akshay, Ashish, Manan, Rohit and Mitali and all the other people we met during these beautiful days spent in India.
